Meet The Team

Anna is the Clinical Director & Lead Physiotherapist at Animated Physiotherapy.  She is passionate about helping people feel better, move more, and banish aches & pains!

She graduated with a degree in Physiotherapy from Brunel University in 2009, and gained experience both in the NHS and working for private practices before opening the Animated Physio studio in 2019. She qualified as an APPI Certified Pilates instructor over 14 years ago, and after starting a class to help her NHS colleagues with bad backs, expanded to taking numerous classes in local village halls before taking the leap and opening her own studio.

Anna has also gained passion in treating women’s health conditions, following lots of her friends having babies, then seeing them struggle to get the help and advice they needed to help their core and pelvic floor recover through the NHS. She is a certified MummyMOT practitioner, and has also completed her POGP urinary incontinence course to help women of all ages with their pelvic floor function. She has also completed additional pre and post natal Pilates and POGP training.

She is a keen swimmer and triathlete, competing for the GB Age Group Triathlon team in the European Championships in Glasgow, August 2018, completing Ironman Zurich in 2019, and swimming for the GB Master’s team at international level in Kazan, Russia, August 2015. She took up CrossFit in 2020, and found that this has helped her become even stronger at swimming! She also loves skiing and travelling. She has been injured herself, undergoing many physio treatments and even surgery for hip and hamstrings issues, so understands how frustrating and debilitating being injured can be. Anna is passionate about sport & exercise, and so understands the importance of timely and effective rehabilitation for a quick return to sport.

She currently takes Wednesday morning Pilates classes and Wednesday & Friday lunchtime reformer classes at our premises, Whitepost Farm House, in Billericay.  She also has private Pilates, physiotherapy (including women’s / pelvic health) and MummyMOT sessions available on Tuesdays and Thursdays which can be booked at our Billericay premises.

Alex is a Physiotherapist with a background working in the NHS and a real passion for helping people move better, feel stronger and get back to doing the things they love. She has experience supporting a wide range of patients through recovery, whether that’s returning to sport, managing everyday activities more comfortably, or rebuilding confidence after injury.

Alex has worked as a Senior Physiotherapist within pelvic health and has completed additional training in urogynaecological assessment and treatment through the Pelvic Health Academy. She particularly enjoys supporting women with pelvic health conditions, as well as during pregnancy and postnatal recovery, helping them return to exercise with confidence.

Alex has a sporting background in athletics and Ju-Jitsu, which is where her interest in physiotherapy first began. She has also gained experience working within League One football, further developing her interest in sports rehabilitation and injury management.

She is also qualified in Level 3 Sports Massage and enjoys staying active herself through strength training, Pilates, and walking. Outside of work, she loves travelling, hiking in the Lake District and Peak District, and spending time with family, friends and her golden retriever.

Fun fact: Alex firmly believes chicken wraps are the most versatile food group and could happily live off them.

Alex has physio appointments (including women’s health & MummyMOT), plus takes Pilates classes with us Monday-Friday!

Laura C

Laura is an experienced Pilates & Reformer instructor and soft tissue therapist. She first found she had a passion for Pilates after having her children, and fell in love with it when she realised how much it helped her recover following pregnancy & childbirth.

As an experienced power lifter, Laura has always had a passion for fitness & exercise. Her passion and purpose is enabling others to have a better understanding of their body. She loves to educate people in how to move correctly and efficiently, not just in the class, but in their daily life.

When not taking classes, Laura enjoys spending time with her time with her young family, and working out in her home gym.

Laura takes our Tuesday morning Pilates classes, and has 1-1 reformer & massage appointments available on a Tuesday too!

Sharon

Sharon is one of our highly skilled Pilates instructors at Animated Physio. She has been involved in health and fitness for a long time, and her interest in health and exercise is still as strong today, as it was 40 years ago! She has completed 4 London Marathons  and still enjoys trail running (although her marathon running days are now sadly over).  Sharon also likes swimming, preferably in the open water, horse-riding and cycling.

She became interested in Pilates, after suffering a back injury during horse-riding and she has never looked back – Pilates has become an integral part of her life now and she feels stronger and more flexible as a result.

Sharon is married, has two sons who are 29 and 25 years old, and two grandsons who are 2 and 4.

Sharon takes our Thursday evening Pilates classes.
