Rebuild your strength, confidence and connection with your body after pregnancy
Returning to exercise after having a baby can feel daunting. Your body has been through an incredible amount of change, and you may not feel ready to jump straight back into your usual workouts.
Our Postnatal Pilates classes in Billericay are designed specifically for mums who want to safely rebuild their strength, improve their core and pelvic floor function, and feel confident exercising again – with your baby welcome to join you.
Classes are led by an experienced Women’s Health Physiotherapist, meaning your postnatal recovery is at the heart of every session.
Whether you’re returning to exercise after a straightforward birth or you’re looking for support with issues such as diastasis recti, pelvic floor weakness or prolapse symptoms, our classes provide a supportive, progressive way to get moving again.
Babies are welcome too!
We know that finding time to exercise with a new baby isn’t always easy. That’s why our postnatal Pilates classes are designed so you can bring your baby along.
You don’t need to arrange childcare – simply bring your little one with you and enjoy some time focusing on yourself while they’re right beside you.

Postnatal Reformer Pilates
Ready to take your postnatal Pilates to the next level?
Our small-group Postnatal Reformer Pilates classes combine the benefits of the reformer with expert postnatal guidance from a Women’s Health Physiotherapist.

A Reformer 1-1 is compulsory before joining the group classes.

More than just Pilates – support for your postnatal recovery
Pregnancy and childbirth can have a significant impact on your core, pelvic floor and overall strength. Our classes are designed to help you gradually rebuild these areas through appropriate, progressive exercise.
Diastasis Recti
Pregnancy naturally stretches the abdominal wall, and some women experience diastasis recti (abdominal separation) after having a baby. Our postnatal Pilates focuses on rebuilding deep core strength, improving abdominal control and gradually progressing your exercises as your body becomes stronger.
Pelvic Floor
Your pelvic floor goes through significant changes during pregnancy and birth. Postnatal Pilates can help you reconnect with your pelvic floor and develop strength and control alongside your wider core and body.
Prolapse
If you’ve experienced pelvic organ prolapse following pregnancy or birth, knowing what exercise is appropriate can be confusing. Our Women’s Health Physiotherapist can help you understand how to exercise safely and progressively, while modifying exercises where necessary to suit your individual needs.
Rebuilding Strength
Postnatal recovery isn’t about rushing back to where you were before pregnancy. It’s about gradually rebuilding strength, control and confidence so you can return to the activities you enjoy.

👶 Bring your baby: No need to organise childcare. Your baby is welcome to come along while you exercise.
💪 Rehabilitation-focused Pilates: Our approach combines Pilates with physiotherapy principles to help you safely rebuild strength and confidence.
🌸 Individualised support: Everyone’s pregnancy, birth and recovery is different. Exercises can be adapted to your individual needs and stage of recovery.
When can I start postnatal Pilates?
Every pregnancy and birth is different, so there isn’t one universal date when everyone should return to exercise. Your readiness will depend on factors including your type of birth, recovery, symptoms and previous activity levels. If you’re unsure whether you’re ready to start, we’d recommend booking a MummyMOT with us first – you can find out more & book here.
If you’re experiencing symptoms such as pelvic pain, urinary or bowel leakage, pelvic heaviness, a feeling of vaginal pressure or concerns about diastasis recti, we would highly recommend this for you to safely return to exercise postnatally, prior to joining a group class.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my baby to Postnatal Pilates?

Is Postnatal Pilates suitable if I have diastasis recti?
Our classes are designed with postnatal recovery in mind and include exercises to help rebuild core strength and control. However, every case of diastasis recti is different. If you have concerns about your abdominal separation, we recommend you see us for a MummyMOT first so we can help determine the most appropriate exercises for you.
Can I do Pilates if I have pelvic floor weakness?
Yes, Pilates can be a useful part of rebuilding strength and control after pregnancy. Our Women’s Health Physiotherapist can adapt exercises to your individual needs.
Can I do Postnatal Pilates if I have a prolapse?
Potentially, yes. Exercise recommendations for prolapse are individual, so it’s important that your symptoms and recovery are taken into consideration. Our Women’s Health Physiotherapist can help you exercise safely and progressively.
Do I need to have done Pilates before?
No. Our postnatal classes are suitable for beginners as well as women who have done Pilates before.
Can I attend just one class?
